A Short Train Ride Across the World

20,000 miles * 60 days  * 30 trains * 35 cities

A train journey metaphors the story of life: It has a clear beginning, middle and an end. Like time, the train travels along a line and usually follows an orderly schedule. Like life, sometimes that schedule gets disrupted. And like life, the journey is often a search for purpose that creates as its byproduct the discovery of fascinations that were never a part of the original search. And just as each single day is the reincarnate microcosm of life itself, so a train journey can be made up of a succession of train rides, each one forming a microcosm of the journey, each one providing another chance to witness and experience, and maybe to learn something more - before the overall journey reaches its end.
